BARBARA DEACON is an independent paralegal with BMH Paralegal Services in Jackson, Georgia. Ms. Deacon has 14 years of experience working with various law firms. In addition, she has 10 years of experience working with victims of domestic violence. She previously worked with the Georgia Association of Paralegals by assisting with round tables for a variety of paralegal programs, including professionalism and ethical behavior for Clayton State University and Emory University. In addition to her paralegal work, Ms. Deacon has served as an advocate for domestic violence with the Haven House and Project Renewal. Ms. Deacon served on the Board of Directors for Clayton County Association Against Family Violence and Southern Regional Hospital's Women Connecting Women Committee. In addition, Ms. Deacon facilitated support groups for young survivors of breast cancer with the Breast Cancer Survivors Network and Dr. Scott Timbert. She received her ABA paralegal certificate from The National Center for Paralegal Training.
