This program meets the California MCLE Paralegal requirement as specified in Business and Professions Code Section 6450(d).
This program may qualify for up to 3.0 hours of self-study CLE credit by the Montana Commission of Continuing Legal Education, including 0.0 hour of ethics. No more than 4.0 hours of self-study CLE credit may be earned during a reporting period.
Approved by the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of New Mexico for 3.0 general self-study credit and 0.0 ethics self-study credit (for a total of 3.0 hours CLE).
NBI, Inc. is licensed by the New Hampshire Department of Education Office of Career School Licensing. There are no enrollment prerequisites or admissions requirements for this course, and there is no exam or grading system. Satisfactory progress is based solely on attendance at the course. Credits may not be transferred. All refunds shall be paid within 30 days upon written notification from a student of cancellation or withdrawal. Students receiving benefits from federal programs shall be subject to federal refund policies, rules and regulation. Student complaints should be directed to our office at (800) 930-6182. Upon exhausting all avenues with NBI, Inc. for resolution, students may file a complaint with the Office of Career School Licensing at (603) 271-6443.
JOELLEN KLOHN RN, LNCC, is president of Hill Country Consulting and works with Bottom Line Consultation, Inc., Houston, TX; Integrity Legal Nurse Consulting PDX, Portland, OR; and North American Consultants, Inc., Dallas, TX. Ms. Klohn provides medical consulting services to attorney-clients, both plaintiff and defense, including merit screens for personal injury, medical malpractice and criminal cases; summarizing medical documents and preparing summary reports/medical chronologies as a consulting and subcontracting nurse; identifying deviations from recognized standards; conducting literature searches; developing written reports for study by the attorney-client; identification of missing records; and expert witness location. Ms. Klohn provides expert witness services in areas of obstetrics, gynecology and newborn nursery. She is the founding leader of Hill Country Chapter-AWHONN, membership AALNC (American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants). She earned her legal nurse consulting certification (AALNC) in 2004, her A.D.N. from Del Mar College and her B.S.N./M.S.N. prerequisites from San Antonio College.
JENNIFER TERANDO is an attorney and mediator with the Law Office of Jennifer Johnston Terando, R.N., Esq. Ms. Terando practices in the areas of health law, physician employment contract review, HIPAA/HITECH, and telemedicine. She also works as a medical-legal consultant in high-stakes litigation. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Southern California Mediation Association and the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. She earned her B.S.N. and J.D. degrees from Case Western Reserve University. Ms. Terando is trained in mediation through the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, and serves on two court mediation panels.
WENDY VOTROUBEK RN, MPH, LNC, is a legal nurse consultant and owner of Integrity Legal Nurse Consulting PDX since 2010. Integrity Legal Nurse Consulting PDX provides both consulting and testifying expert work for plaintiff and defense firms across the country for personal injury, medical negligence and criminal defense cases. Their nurses provide chronologies of events, summaries that focus on the case strength and weaknesses, merit screens, research tables, reasonableness of charges and medical cost projections. Their forensic nurses also provide review and analysis for criminal defense cases to refute the state’s claims. Integrity Legal Nurse Consulting PDX provides testifying expert work for nursing standards of care and long-term care cases. Ms. Votroubek is an instructor for the University of Portland School of Nursing and has written three nursing textbooks, as well as numerous book chapters and articles.
