MELODY H. DEMASI is an attorney with Briskin, Cross & Sanford, LLC in Alpharetta, Georgia. Her practice focuses primarily on business litigation, business law, employment law, and commercial real estate. Ms. Demasi works actively with the firm's clients to create cost-effective legal solutions to the challenges faced by privately held companies and their owners, mitigating risk, capitalizing on growth opportunities, and driving business continuity and profitability. She is licensed by the State Bar of Georgia, and is a member of both the Business and Labor and Employment sections of the State Bar of Georgia. Ms. Demasi is also an active member of the North Fulton Bar Association. She received her J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Emory Law, Ms. Demasi served as the director-in-chief of the Mock Trial Society. She has also been personally recognized for her trial skills at several national mock trial competitions. Upon graduation, Ms. Demasi was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Barristers for her excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. Prior to law school, she attended the University of Kentucky, where she received bachelor's degrees in both political science and English, and graduated, summa cum laude, with departmental honors in English.
T. JAMES LEE is a shareholder and director in the Phoenix office of Fennemore Craig, P.C., and chairs the firm’s private wealth preservation (trusts and estates) practice group. He is certified as a trust and estate specialist by the State Bar of Arizona, and practices in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, charitable giving, business design and structuring, international taxation, and commercial transactions. Mr. Lee serves on Arizona’s Estate and Trust Advisory Commission, and is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Utah State Bar, the ABA's Committee on Estate and Gift Taxes (Taxation Section), and is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Lee is actively engaged with local and international charitable organizations. He earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Brigham Young University, with distinction as the top business school graduate in the area of entrepreneurship. He graduated, with honors, in 1996 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU, and served on the Editorial Board of the BYU Law Review. Mr. Lee is listed in Best Lawyers in America under tax law and trusts & estates; Southwest Super Lawyers in estate planning and probate; and is ranked in Chambers and Partners under private wealth law.
MAYA SIMMONS ROGERS is the managing partner of Simmons Rogers, LLC. In this role, she serves as outside general counsel to a variety of businesses, including technology companies, fashion designers and influencers, retail stores, franchisees, and non-profits. As outside general counsel, she handles transactional, intellectual property, and litigation matters on behalf of her clients. Prior to founding Simmons Rogers, LLC, Ms. Simmons Rogers was able to gain extensive experience handling litigation and transactional matters for businesses in varying stages from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. As a strong believer in ADR, she has represented her clients in numerous arbitrations and mediations in addition to resolving disputes as an arbitrator and mediator. Ms. Simmons Rogers served on the Executive Board of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Board of Directors for the Refugee Women's Network, serving as treasurer for four years. In 2017, her firm began hosting free legal clinics in South Georgia featuring lawyers from across the state. As a result of her experience and service, she was recognized as one of The National Black Lawyers Top 40 under 40 in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Ms. Simmons Rogers earned her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees, both summa cum laude, from Florida A&M University and her J.D. degree from The University of Michigan Law School.
