JACK P. BURDEN is a shareholder in the law firm of Backus, Carranza & Burden, and is a litigation attorney with his practice emphasis in general liability, product liability, food liability and commercial matters. His clients range from Fortune 200 companies to local business owners in Nevada. Mr. Burden is admitted to the State Bar of Nevada; the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada and the U.S. Supreme Court; and currently serves as an author of State Bar of Nevada Jury Instructions. He is also active in the State Bar of Nevada’s Continuing Education Committee and the Canyon Springs High School Advisory Board. Mr. Burden earned his B.S. degree from the University of Nevada, Reno's Reynolds School of Journalism and his J.D. degree from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.
KEVIN R. DIAMOND is a shareholder with Thorndal Armstrong Delk Balkenbush & Eisinger. He has represented gaming, hotel and hospitality clients' interests in managing risks since he began his legal career. Mr. Diamond currently represents numerous properties both on and off the Strip. He maintains a substantial premises defense practice for non-gaming clients, as well as a business law practice. Mr. Diamond is licensed to practice in Nevada and before the U.S. District courts of Nevada. He is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, and the American and Clark County bar associations, as well as the Eighth Judicial District Mandatory Arbitration Program Panel and the Eighth Judicial District Short Trial Program Judge Pro Tempore Panel. Mr. Diamond serves as a private arbitrator and mediator. He was appointed by the Supreme Court of Nevada as a mentor for the Transitioning Into Practice program designed to assist newly licensed lawyers in meeting their ethical and professional obligations. Mr. Diamond earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University; and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the California Western School of Law.
LEAH A. MARTIN is managing partner at Leah Martin Law. She brings many years of experience in all areas of business law, including preparing formation documents; drafting operating and shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, purchase and finance agreements, leases, surrender agreements, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements, and employment agreements; contract litigation; shareholder derivative suits; business dissolutions; and appellate matters. During the course of Ms. Martin's practice of law, she also has been involved in many areas of legal education and service. She has been a grader for the Nevada Bar Exam since 2008. Ms. Martin has chaired the Clark County Law Foundation Community Service Committee, having served on the committee since 2007. In addition to maintaining her own cases, she also has been an arbitrator on the Court Annexed Arbitration Program Panel since 2012. Ms. Martin is currently licensed with the State Bar of Nevada, and is certified to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Nevada, Clark County Bar Association, and Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys. Ms. Martin earned her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Nevada Las Vegas; and her J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Nevada Law Vegas School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Nevada Law Journal.
