AMANDA PIRT MEYER is an attorney with Haskins Short & Brindley LLC, where she focuses her practice on Social Security disability law, probate law, guardianship law, trust administration, and special needs trusts. Ms. Pirt Meyer has a background in health insurance and science, and began her legal career by practicing personal injury law. She has previously presented on the intersection of probate and personal injury law. She is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, State Bar of Wisconsin, and the Dane County Bar Association. Ms. Pirt Meyer earned her B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School.
STACY E. THOMPSON is a partner in the law firm of Bluestein Thompson Sullivan, LLC, in Columbia, South Carolina. Ms. Thompson practices exclusively in the area of Social Security disability. She is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR) and been a member of the NOSSCR Board representing the Fourth and D.C. circuits. She also is a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Bar, and the Richland County Bar Association. Ms. Thompson was elected to the Board of Trustees for Leadership South Carolina. Ms. Thompson is chair of the Social Security Disability Section of the South Carolina Association for Justice (formerly South Carolina Trial Lawyers) and is a member of the South Carolina Bar's Publications Committee and Pro Bono Committee. She has been a speaker at numerous seminars regarding Social Security disability throughout the state. Ms. Thompson earned her B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina Honors College, her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and her Master of International Business Studies degree from the Darla Moore School of Business.
