STEVEN E. COPE is a managing member and principal attorney in the Cope Law Firm founded in Portland, Maine, successor to Cope and Cope, P.A. He maintains a general practice, with emphases in business transactions and organizations, real estate, estate planning, commercial law, and creditor/debtor practice and litigation. Mr. Cope is a member of the Maine State and Cumberland County bar associations. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. degree from Boston College Law School. Mr. Cope is admitted to practice before the bars of the State of Maine and Commonwealth of Massachusetts and continues to maintain active status in both jurisdictions.
STEVEN FRANCKHAUSER, CIPP, is chief legal officer at Bertison-George, LLC, with offices in Orlando, Florida and Columbus, Ohio. Over the course of his diverse legal career, Mr. Franckhauser has litigated several jury trials, crafted and negotiated contracts with public and private entities in all 50 states, as well as several foreign countries, arbitrated disputes for FINRA and acted as general counsel and corporate secretary for top 60 professional services firms. Mr. Franckhauser currently focuses his efforts on data privacy and cyber security with emphasis on the contractual terms and conditions for supply chain data risk management. He is an adjunct professor of law at the Duquesne University School of Law and the Pennsylvania State University where he has taught information privacy and security in the College of Information Science and Technology. Mr. Franckhauser serves on various industry-related organizations boards, is a frequent lecturer and speaker on cyber security, data privacy and contractual best practices. He is a trained and experienced arbitrator, mediator and business counselor. Mr. Franckhauser earned his B.A. degree from The Ohio State University and J.D. degree from the Duquesne University School of Law.
BRIAN J. PEZZILLO is a member of Howard & Howard Attorneys, PLLC, where he practices in the areas of medical and recreational marijuana, construction law, and litigation and appeals. He is admitted to practice in New Mexico, Nevada, North Dakota, Arizona, Colorado and before the U.S. District Court, districts of Nevada and New Mexico; and U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th and 11th circuits. Mr. Pezzillo is also accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a certified information privacy professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and a certified information privacy manager (CIPM). He is also a fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America (CLSA), and has been listed as a Mountain States Super Lawyer and a Best Lawyer in America.
